Advanced Social Media Skills

Objectives

This is a one day hands-on workshop aimed at Directors, Business Owners, Entrepreneurs, Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service professionals who want to take their social media skills further, gaining increased benefits from social media as an online marketing, customer engagement and resource tool for their business. The course introduces other social media platforms such as Blogs, Youtube videos, Google +, Foursquare, Pinterest and selected Social Media monitoring tools and shows how to track the benefits gained from these extra tools.

Pre-requisites

Delegates should already be active on social media and actively seeking greater benefits for their business. Ideally they should meet at least two of the following three pre-requisites: on Facebook, have an active Facebook page with at least 25 fans; on Twitter, have an active Twitter profile with at least 50 followers and on LinkedIn, have a completed profile with at least 50 connections.

A comprehensive set of reference notes covering course topics, follow-up telephone support and, for training on Transmedia premises, lunch and refreshments.

  • Why and how to use a social media dashboard application to effectively manage Twitter
  • How to track industry keywords being mentioned on Twitter for research and business opportunities
  • How to filter those who following you on Twitter into lists, to more effectively target clients, prospects, locations, industry sectors and research competitors and industry contacts
  • How to grow a following among your customer base – including an overview of an automation tool to achieve this
  • How to use #tags to get noticed more and attract new followers
  • Using other Twitter applications that enhance the use of Twitter

How to get more out of LinkedIn

  • How to complete a Company Profile and associate with Products and Services
  • How to use Groups and Answers to promote yourself as industry expert and draw in your customer base to your business (inbound marketing)
  • How to promote events within LinkedIn
  • How to add other applications to your LinkedIn profile, such as Wordpress blogs, Slideshare content etc.

How to get more out of Facebook

  • How to reach out to a wider audience within Facebook via other Facebook pages
  • How to promote events within Facebook
  • How to add other applications to your Facebook page, such as Twitter and YouTube tabs
  • How to sync your blog with your Facebook page
  • Overview of Facebook advertising

How to use YouTube for Business

  • Overview of YouTube
  • How to set up a YouTube Channel
  • How to “favourite” other people’s videos to appear on your own channel page
  • Overview of how to upload and customise settings for YouTube videos
  • How to promote video content via other social media platforms

How to Introduce other Social Media Platforms

  • Overview of Blogs, Google +, Pinterest (photo sharing), Foursquare (venue location marketing) and Social Media monitoring tools

Social Media Strategy

  • How to use social media as an effective online marketing, customer engagement and resource tool for business
  • How to effectively manage your social media time
  • How to further track how social media is working for your business to be able to continuously extend and improve your online marketing campaigns
