Objectives

This course is designed for new users of Microsoft Access. By the end of the course, delegates will be able to: create tables, enter and change data; sort, and query data using criteria; create basic forms and reports; review and print data from queries, forms and reports.

Pre-requisites

Delegates need no prior Access experience but should be familiar with the Windows environment. It is also helpful for those attending to have a clear idea of the basic structure of the database system they plan to build after training.

  • Entering criteria
  • Creating calculated fields
  • Querying multiple tables

Forms

  • Creating forms using Form Wizards
  • Changing the design of forms
  • Creating list and combo boxes for data entry
  • Creating calculated fields

Reports

  • Creating reports using Report Wizards
  • Changing the design of reports
  • Sorting and grouping data

Restructuring a Table/Object Management

  • Inserting and deleting fields; renaming and re-arranging fields
  • Changing data types and field properties
  • Renaming, deleting, and copying objects

Opening, Converting and Saving Databases

  • Opening and Converting databases in previous versions
  • Saving databases in previous version
